At The Smart Place Adult and Children
Services, Inc. (SPACS) the standard for successful instruction
is social competence. We believe that the achievement
of social competence is a reliable predictor of successful
adjustment to a lifestyle centered in community inclusion.
This philosophy places particular emphasis on educational
and training experiences which foster the personal independence
and emotional growth of individuals with disabilities.
SPACS recognizes the inherent value of each participant
and direct care counselor in the transitional process
and believes in the ability of each participant to learn
